What is the PSM II?
The PSM II (Professional Scrum Master II) is the advanced level of Scrum.org's Scrum Master certification. Where PSM I validates understanding of Scrum, PSM II validates the ability to apply Scrum in complex, real situations: serving the team and the organisation in the face of concrete obstacles.
It is the certification for those already in the role who want to step up.
Who is the PSM II for?
The PSM II is for experienced Scrum Masters who want to deepen their practice.
- Scrum Masters who have been in the role for a while
- PSM I holders who want to progress
- Agile coaches supporting several teams
- Facilitators dealing with complex organisations
Prerequisites
The PSM II has no formal prerequisite, but it assumes good mastery of Scrum and, in practice, experience of the role. Holding the PSM I is strongly recommended before aiming for PSM II.
The PSM II exam
The PSM II exam is taken entirely online, with a high passing score (85%). It is more demanding than PSM I: questions focus on applying Scrum in real situations, not just theory. Questions are mostly in English.
Like all Scrum.org certifications, it is for life.
How much does the PSM II cost?
The cost includes the preparation training and the exam fee paid to Scrum.org. At Atypix, the training price depends on the country of enrolment:
| Senegal | F CFA 495,000 |
| Benin | F CFA 584,100 |
Price of the training and support. The examination fee paid to PMI is invoiced separately.
