What is the PSPO II?
The PSPO II (Professional Scrum Product Owner II) is the advanced level of Scrum.org's Product Owner certification. It validates the ability to genuinely maximise a product's value: making trade-offs under constraints, measuring value delivered, and acting as a true product owner, not just a backlog manager.
It is the certification for Product Owners who want to move from execution to product strategy.
Who is the PSPO II for?
The PSPO II is for Product Owners who already have practice and want more impact.
- Product Owners and Product Managers in role
- PSPO I holders who want to progress
- Product leads driving value
- Professionals connecting product and strategy
Prerequisites
The PSPO II has no formal prerequisite, but assumes good mastery of the Product Owner role. Holding the PSPO I is strongly recommended before aiming for PSPO II.
The PSPO II exam
The PSPO II exam is taken entirely online, with a high passing score (85%). It is more demanding than PSPO I: it covers product value management in situation, not just theory. Questions are mostly in English.
Like all Scrum.org certifications, it is for life.
