PMI-ACP certification: the complete guide

PMI's agile certification, what it validates, its requirements, exam, price and how to prepare in French-speaking West Africa.

What is the PMI-ACP?

The PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) is PMI's agile certification. Unlike a certification tied to a single framework, PMI-ACP covers a broad range of agile approaches: Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and more. It attests real, versatile agile practice.

It is sought after by organisations adopting agility without limiting themselves to one method.

Who is the PMI-ACP for?

The PMI-ACP is for professionals already working in agile teams who want that experience recognised.

  • Project managers and coordinators in agile environments
  • Scrum Masters and agile coaches
  • Experienced agile team members
  • Managers running iterative delivery

Eligibility requirements

The PMI-ACP assumes experience and agile training. The conditions below are those usually required; PMI remains the authoritative source, especially as the programme evolves.

  • Project work experience, part of it on agile projects.
  • 21 hours of agile practices training (covered by our course).
  • The detailed experience hours are set by PMI.

The PMI-ACP exam

The PMI-ACP exam has 120 questions in 3 hours, covering the full range of agile approaches. Like other PMI certifications, it is delivered through the Pearson VUE network: online with proctoring or at an authorised centre.

The certification is then maintained through PDUs (professional development units).

How much does the PMI-ACP cost?

The cost includes the preparation training and the exam fee paid to PMI. At Atypix, the training price depends on the country of enrolment:

SenegalF CFA 566,400
BeninF CFA 566,400

Price of the training and support. The examination fee paid to PMI is invoiced separately.
