What is the CBAP?
The CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) is IIBA's (International Institute of Business Analysis) benchmark certification for experienced business analysts. It attests mastery of needs analysis, process modelling and translating business challenges into solutions, per the BABOK guide.
It is a senior certification, sought after by organisations structuring their projects around business analysis.

Experience requirements
The CBAP is a senior certification: it requires substantial experience. The conditions below are those usually required; IIBA remains the authoritative source.
- Around 7,500 hours of business analysis experience (about 5 to 6 years), spread across the BABOK areas.
- 35 hours of business analysis training.
- Professional references.
The CBAP exam
The CBAP exam has 120 scenario-based questions in 210 minutes, with a break. It is taken online with proctoring, or at a PSI centre. It is not a Pearson VUE exam.
The certification is then maintained through continuing professional development hours.
How much does the CBAP cost?
The cost includes the preparation training and the exam fee paid to IIBA. At Atypix, the price depends on the country of enrolment:
