Data Analyst Intern (champ vide sur la fiche)
For three months, you make our client and financial data reliable and help the firm make decisions based on sound figures. A hands-on internship with real results.
The role
Atypix is a consulting firm specializing in project management, organizational transformation, agility and technology. We support companies and institutions on their projects, build software solutions, help professionals with their careers and organizations with recruitment, and provide training for our partners' certifications: PMI, Scrum.org, PeopleCert, PECB and Management 3.0. Our offices are in Montréal, Dakar and Cotonou.
Your mission: make our data reliable. Our contact files contain duplicates, missing fields and errors, and our financial history is scattered. Over three months, you diagnose, correct and suggest simple rules so the data stays clean, and you help structure our financial data.
Your internship supervisor is the Head of Information Technology. For the financial part, you work with the Administration and Finance Manager.
Make client data reliable
- Assess our contact data (CRM, back office and database): duplicates, missing fields, inconsistent formats.
- Identify and merge duplicates, following rules agreed with your supervisor.
- Complete and correct data from reliable sources, keeping a record of every change.
Propose governance rules
- Write a data dictionary: fields, definitions, expected formats.
- Propose data entry rules and simple automatic checks to prevent errors.
- Train the team on good data entry practices.
Structure financial data
- With the Administration and Finance Manager, gather and structure the history of financial data.
- Reconcile CRM data (sales, registrations) with accounting data, and flag discrepancies.
- Prepare tables that make monthly, quarterly and annual closings, and auditors' requests, easier.
Analyze and report
- Build simple dashboards for management, marketing and sales.
- Suggest actions based on the data: client segments, most requested programs, follow-ups to prioritize.
- Present a quantified review and recommendations at the end of the internship.
Your results will be measured on
- A lower duplicate rate and a higher completeness rate for contacts.
- An approved data dictionary and data entry rules.
- A structured and reconciled financial history.
- The quality of the end-of-internship review.
What will make the difference
- You like figures to be right and you check before you claim.
- You can explain simply what the data says.
- You are discreet with confidential information.
- You want to learn alongside technology and finance professionals.
What we offer
- A hands-on internship, with a supervisor and clear objectives.
- A monthly stipend and an internship certificate.
- Experience with real client and financial data.
- The possibility of a fixed-term contract after the internship, depending on results and the firm's needs.
What we are looking for
- Final-year student or recent graduate, with three to five years of higher education in statistics, computer science, data, economics or finance.
- Internship agreement signed with your school or university.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets: pivot tables, lookup functions, sorting and filtering.
- SQL basics: select, filter, group, join tables.
- Basic accounting knowledge: accounting documents, expense and revenue accounts, bank reconciliation.
- Strong rigor with figures, demonstrated in a project or an internship.
- Experience with Power Query, Power BI or a dashboard tool (a plus).
- Python basics for data processing (a plus).
- Knowledge of SYSCOHADA (a plus).
- Use of a CRM or accounting software (a plus).
- Reading knowledge of English, for technical documentation (a plus).
What this role really demands
Four day-to-day realities, so that you can decide with full knowledge.
- a 3-month internship with an internship agreement
- being on site in Dakar
- contact files to clean patiently, line by line
- confidential data to handle discreetly
