Project and Operations Manager
As the Managing Director’s right hand, you run Atypix projects and operations in Dakar, lead the team and keep the business moving in his absence.
The role
Atypix is a consulting firm specializing in project management, organizational transformation, agility and technology. We support companies and institutions on complex projects, build software solutions, help our clients recruit talent and train professionals, in partnership with PMI, Scrum.org, PeopleCert, PECB and Management 3.0. Our offices are in Montréal, Dakar and Cotonou.
The firm is growing and launching new services. The Managing Director sets the strategy; he needs a right hand in Dakar to turn it into results, move every project forward and keep the team focused, including when he is away.
You report directly to the Managing Director.
Run projects and the roadmap
- Manage the project portfolio: corporate training, consulting assignments, new services, market openings, internal initiatives.
- Turn the Managing Director's direction into action plans, with owners and deadlines.
- Plan and track schedules, budgets and risks; raise issues early and propose solutions.
- Connect consultants, trainers, the sales team and clients.
Run operations
- Oversee daily activity: training sessions, test center, administration, logistics.
- Set weekly priorities, track indicators and remove blockers.
- Enforce procedures, and write them where they are missing.
Lead the Dakar team
- Run team rituals: daily check-in, weekly review, individual objectives.
- Support the head of each function and defuse tensions.
- Take part in hiring and onboarding new team members.
Ensure continuity when the Managing Director is away
- Make day-to-day decisions, within the written delegations entrusted to you.
- Represent the firm with clients and partners.
- Report every week: activity, figures, decisions made, items to arbitrate.
Your results will be measured on
- Projects delivered on time and on budget.
- Revenue and session fill rate.
- Client and participant satisfaction.
- Business continuity: no decision blocked for lack of leadership.
- Team growth and stability.
What will make the difference
- You lead with calm and high standards, and you know how to decide.
- You work autonomously with leadership that is sometimes remote, with loyalty and discretion.
- You may have started a business before: we value what you learned from it.
- You want to build for the long term and grow with the firm.
What we offer
- A right-hand role, as close as possible to the Managing Director's decisions.
- PMP preparation paid for by Atypix, and access to our other training programs.
- Varied projects: consulting, technology, recruitment and training, across several countries.
- A salary based on profile, set to evolve with your results.
What we are looking for
- Four- or five-year university degree in management, project management, engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in project or operations management.
- Experience leading a team or a project team.
- CAPM or PMP certification, or commitment to earn the PMP within 12 months with Atypix preparation.
- Hands-on use of predictive and agile approaches.
- Strong with numbers: budgets, profitability, dashboards.
- Professional English.
- Experience in consulting, training or business services (a plus).
- Experience running a delivery unit or a project management office (a plus).
- Proficiency with a project tracking tool: MS Project, Jira, Monday or equivalent (a plus).
- Entrepreneurial or business-creation experience (a plus).
What this role really demands
Four day-to-day realities, so that you can decide with full knowledge.

- tracking projects, sessions, a test center and administration at the same time
- a modest fixed pay compared with the market, which evolves with results
